About Play It Green

Play It Green is a B Corp-certified sustainability company founded in 2021 by Richard Dickson and Chris Thair. Their model is built around three steps: reduce footprints through weekly education, repair nature through verified planting, and regive ten percent of all revenue to customer-chosen charities.

Their restoration work spans four countries and three ecosystems: mangrove restoration along the Kenyan and Tanzanian coasts, agroforestry in Senegal, and Indigenous-led sea kelp regeneration in Canada. Each project is monitored with satellite data, bioacoustic sensors, and on-the-ground surveys to ensure long-term ecological and social outcomes.

How they use ElevenLabs

Play It Green uses ElevenLabs to add an extra layer of accessibility for readers. Every article published on the Play It Green website includes an ElevenLabs Audio Native player at the top of the page, allowing visitors to listen to the content as well as read it.

This helps make sustainability education more accessible for people who prefer audio, are commuting, are multitasking, or live with visual impairments or other accessibility needs. For a business built around weekly education and community impact, that added accessibility is a meaningful part of how Play It Green reaches people.

"ElevenLabs has become part of our creative process - helping us communicate our purpose with greater clarity and reach," said Richard Dickson, CEO of Play It Green. "It has improved our editorial workflow, allowing us to focus more on storytelling, impact measurement, and community engagement."

The impact so far

The efficiency gained through ElevenLabs has allowed Play It Green to focus their resources where they matter most - building partnerships, expanding internationally, and deepening the human impact behind the numbers.

And those human outcomes are significant. In Kenya, women lead many of the mangrove planting teams, creating steady income that strengthens household resilience. Across restoration sites, approximately 1,675 people now have improved access to clean water, and health insurance coverage extends to around 1,686 people across employees and their households. In Senegal, agroforestry is restoring soil and food security for farming families. In Canada, Indigenous communities are rebuilding kelp forests that carry deep cultural and ecological meaning.

Play It Green scored in the top ten percent globally on their first B Corp assessment, and in the top two percent for governance. More than fifty charities have been supported through their Regive model, with many selected directly by their member businesses.

What's next

As Play It Green approaches their next million plants and expands into new sectors, they plan to continue integrating ElevenLabs tools to enhance communications and explore additional AI-powered content creation to reach wider audiences.

Not every AI use case makes headlines. Sometimes the most impactful thing voice technology can do is help a small team with a massive mission reach more people, more consistently, more inclusively. Play It Green is proof of that.
